How to Find and Join a SCUM Server

SCUM is an open-world survival game set on a prison island, featuring one of the most detailed character metabolism systems in any survival game. Whether you want intense PvP, cooperative PvE, or structured roleplay, there are dedicated communities for every playstyle. This guide helps you find the right SCUM server.

PvP, PvE, and Roleplay

SCUM servers fall into three main categories. PvP servers allow full player combat — raiding, looting, and territorial warfare are part of daily life. These servers attract players who enjoy the high-stakes survival experience.

PvE servers disable player-vs-player combat, letting you focus on surviving against the island's hazards, building bases, and exploring. These are ideal for players who prefer a more relaxed pace.

Roleplay servers add structured social rules on top of the survival mechanics. Players take on characters, follow interaction rules, and build communities. Most RP servers have application processes and active moderation.

How to Connect

In SCUM, click Play from the main menu, then Browse Servers. Search for your server by name or use the filters to narrow results. For direct connection, use the IP and port (default 7042) from the LobbyLink listing in the Direct Connect option.

SCUM features a detailed character creation system where your physical stats affect gameplay — strength, constitution, and dexterity all matter. Take time to customize your character based on how you want to play.
