How to Find and Join a Killing Floor 2 Server

Killing Floor 2 is a cooperative first-person wave-based shooter where up to 6 players team up against hordes of Zeds. With 10 perk classes, multiple difficulty levels, and an active modding scene, KF2 offers deep replayability. This guide helps you find the right server.

Difficulty Levels and Perks

KF2 has four difficulty levels: Normal, Hard, Suicidal, and Hell on Earth. Each step up increases Zed health, damage, spawn rates, and aggression while reducing player damage. New players should start on Normal or Hard to learn Zed patterns before attempting Suicidal.

The 10 perk classes (Berserker, Commando, Support, Field Medic, Demolitionist, Firebug, Gunslinger, Sharpshooter, SWAT, Survivalist) each level independently through gameplay. Higher perk levels unlock powerful passive bonuses and active skills. Finding a server that matches your perk level range makes for the best experience.

How to Connect

In KF2, click Matchmaking, then Browse Servers. Filter by game mode (Survival, Endless, Weekly), difficulty, and map. Click a server to view details and join. You can also use the Steam server browser for direct connection.

Weekly Outbreaks add special modifiers that change each week — these are great for variety. Endless mode removes the wave cap, letting you play until your team falls. Custom servers may run modded maps and mutators from the Workshop.
