About the LobbyLink Bot

We run a bot that joins Minecraft servers to let players know their server is on LobbyLink. If you got a message from it and want to know why, this page covers everything.

Why we do this

We get it, a bot joining your server out of nowhere is a bit annoying. Here's what's actually going on.

Your server is publicly listed
LobbyLink only indexes servers that are open to the public. If your server shows up here, it was already listed somewhere anyone could find it. We don't scan random IPs or look for private servers.
It helps players find your server
When the bot joins and a player sees the message, they can check out your listing, vote for you, or share it with others. It's free advertising for servers that are already open to the public.
We want to grow the Minecraft community
More visibility means more players for everyone. We're trying to make it easier for people to find good servers, and this is one of the ways we do that.

How we found your server

We don't port scan or guess IPs. Your server's address came from somewhere it was already public:

Public server lists
Sites like Planet Minecraft, Minecraft Server List, and others where you or someone else posted your server.
Community posts
Discord servers, Reddit, or forums where your server address was shared.
Existing listings
Someone may have already added your server to LobbyLink directly.

We only store the IP and port your server is publicly accessible on. We don't read chat, collect player info, or log anything from inside the server.

Claiming your server is the better option

The bot only visits unclaimed servers. Claim your listing and it stops visiting permanently, plus you get full control over your page.
