Game Modes
Push is the most popular PvP mode — one team attacks through a series of objectives while the other defends. Firefight is a smaller-scale objective mode with limited respawns. Skirmish combines objective capture with wave-based respawning.
Checkpoint is the premier co-op mode — up to 8 players fight through objectives against AI insurgents. Hardcore Checkpoint adds friendly fire and removes the HUD for maximum intensity. Outpost is a wave defense mode where your team holds a single point.
Community servers often run custom maps, modded game modes, and adjusted difficulty settings. Check the server description for specific rules.
How to Connect
In Insurgency: Sandstorm, click Community Servers from the main menu. Search by server name or filter by mode and map. For direct connection, use the console command "connect IP:PORT".
The game features a weight-based loadout system — heavier gear slows you down but provides more firepower and protection. Learning to balance your loadout is key to success. Community servers may modify loadout restrictions.
