How to Find and Join a Squad Server

Squad is a large-scale tactical FPS that emphasizes teamwork, communication, and realistic combined-arms combat. With 50v50 battles across massive maps, finding the right server community matters — each server has its own culture, rules, and playstyle. This guide helps you find a Squad server that fits your preferences.

Game Modes

Squad offers several game modes across its servers:

• AAS (Advance and Secure) — Linear flag capture with a defined front line • RAAS (Randomized AAS) — Same concept but with randomized flag placement • Invasion — One team attacks through objectives while the other defends • Skirmish — Smaller-scale combat on reduced map layers • Seed — Low-player-count warm-up mode to populate the server

Most servers run a map rotation through different modes and layers. Server descriptions on LobbyLink will list the primary game modes.

How to Connect

Launch Squad and click Browse Servers. The server browser shows all active servers with player counts, map, game mode, and ping. Filter by region and game mode to find a match.

Squad servers often have queue systems — popular servers during peak hours may have 10-20 players waiting. Whitelisted slots are sometimes available for server supporters.

Squad has a steep learning curve. New players should join a squad (don't create one yet), use a microphone, and follow their squad leader's directions. Communication is not optional in Squad.
